Bridge and Road Connection from E11 to Siniya Island

The scope of the contract comprises the construction, completion, maintenance and guarantee of the “Construction, Completion, Maintenance and Guarantee of Bridge and Road Connection from E11 to Siniya Island at Umm Al Quwain, U.A.E”

The project is a lump sum contract for the construction of the Siniya Island Gateway including a causeway bridge and roadwork’s connection to E11.

The connection to E11 consists of constructing a new 38 m ROW triple carriageway road and roundabout on the existing E11 road inclusive of utilities required to support
development on the island; Potable water, Power transmission, Telecom, stormwater
surface drainage, street lighting & power supply for street lighting. The proposed
alignment runs through existing structures on the former UAQ Aviation site which must
be cleared to allow the construction of the works.
The connection road will continue across the proposed causeway bridge and terminate
onto the island for connection of future infrastructure development package on the
island.
The Proposed 1km causeway bridge (680m bridge; and 400m causeway) will be supported by arch structures and MSE Walls. The height and width of the proposed arch structures have been determined to ensure clear and safe passage for vessels beneath the bridge, current crossing contains 3 active navigation channels which must be maintained at the handover of the bridge.

The following clearance has been used for each arch span that will be used as a
navigation span: a single clear envelope that is 6m high and 15m wide implemented per
direction of passage (total minimum 6 required). Each navigation envelope is provided
with reference to the Highest Astronomical Tide (HAT) plus an allowance for sea level
rise and the pile bent level to the 1 in 100-year Design Water Level including sea level rise.
At least one of the existing navigation channels with passage in two directions must be active and maintained for the entire duration of the bridge construction works.

o Details of offshore works/wet works:
- Backfilling of sea (from onshore).
- Construction of piles and pile cap (from onshore) using the backfilled material to the sea.
- Construction of arches (from onshore) using the backfilled material to the sea.
- Construction of the causeway (from onshore).
- Supply and installation of silt curtain (temporary works and will be removed at the end of the scope).
- Supply and installation of Marker Buoys.
- Supply and installation of pier navigation lanterns to be installed at the navigation channels constructed.
- Supply and installation of bridge vertical clearance bars to be installed on arches.
- Supply and installation of fenders to be installed on pile cap.
